As many fantasy- and visionary artists Erik is chasing the ever lasting challenge to achieve extraordinary lighting, mood and suspense in his work. He designs and paints sets and environments for the animation -and game industry. Always trying to create breathtaking atmospheres by exploring contrast, lighting, FX and unexpected colour perspectives. Since 1992 he is contributing with his work to animated movies, TV series bookcovers, comics and video games. He has been credited on more then 20 animated films and TV Series.

Hello, my name is Erik.

I am a professional backgroundartist working in the animation- and game industry. In the year 1993 I started my career at the Don Bluth Studios in Dublin. In those days there were no computers used yet in the painting proces therefore I developed a strong traditional painting background. Around the year 2000 I made the transition to working digitally.

Going through the pages on this webportfolio you will find examples of my

backgroundart and of my personal art.

In my shop I sell pieces from my personal collection plus some collector items.
